Chairman David Cottam became principal of Sha Tin College, Hong Kong, in 1990. During his nineteen years as principal there, he introduced the International Baccalaureate to the college, pioneering its adoption today by all English Schools Foundation schools. It was a great privilege for David to lead Sha Tin during these important formative years of its development, and the college was judged to be ‘an outstandingly successful school’ in its first Ofsted Report.
Following his retirement from education, with no desire to break his long-standing commitment to Hong Kong, David became Chairman of Mental Ideas. He has been startled by just how many have contacted him and the obvious need for more professional help and opportunities in Hong Kong. He hopes to develop the platform further to broaden the range of services and opportunities Mental Ideas can give.
