The 2024 Hong Kong Lit Fest kicks off next week! Mental Ideas will be taking part in all manner of literary shenanigans! Here are a few events…
Mental Idealist Sadie Kaye and fellow ambassadors Vish and Derek will be taking part in a poetry event for Mind HK at the Anita Chan Lai-ling Gallery on the G/F of the Hong Kong Fringe Club in Lan Kwai Fong, Central. Tickets for Poetry, Stories and Mental Health have sold out, but there are always no-shows so it’s definitely worth your while trying your luck on the door!
The Hong Kong Writers Circle will be launching their latest anthology of short stories and poetry, Lost in Transition, upstairs in the Jockey Club Studio Theatre at the Hong Kong Fringe Club 6 March from 7.30-8.45pm. Tickets have sold out but there are always no-shows so please try your luck on the door!
The Hong Kong Women in Publishing Society will be launching their latest anthology of short fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction,Imprint 22, in a literary fiesta at the Foreign Correspondents Club from 7-10pm March 7! Tickets are HKD$400 and include free wine or bubbles, a buffet, a wide variety of entertainment and two copies of the anthology per guest!
Jan Lee (pen name of Genevieve Hilton), editor of The Apostrophe, will be part of a panel discussion on Navigating the World the World of Publishing in the Fringe Dairy on 10 March from 4.30-5.30pm. She is also launching Fairhaven: A Novel of Climate Optimism with co-writer Steve Willis from 6-7pm at the Fringe Jockey Club Studio March 7. Tickets are still available for both events!
Sam Powney, Associate Editor of The Apostrophe, will be launching his poetry collection Special Characters at the Social Room from 7.30pm. Sam is an amazing poet and performer. But hurry as there are very few tickets left!
We are also looking forward to attending Sonia Leung’s A Memoir of Triumph Against the Odds and the AJAR Collective’s An Immersive Journey into Collaborative Storytelling.
