Sharp Pains
Sadie Kaye takes a sideways look at life, love and parenthood in her humour column for Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK Radio 3), Sharp Pains. The first episode broadcasted on RTHK Sept 29, 2020. Sharp Pains was shortlisted for Best Regularly Scheduled Comedy Program by the 2022 New York Festivals Radio Awards. The Bake Fail episode was chosen by the On Air Fest in New York as one of their 2022 Official Selects. She was nominated for ‘Moment of Comedy Gold‘ by the 2022 International Women’s Podcast Awards in London for her performance in Bake Fail. In 2023 she was nominated for ‘Moment of Comedy Gold by IWPA judges for Home Spa.
The series inspired some goofy columns in the South China Morning Post and short stories for anthologies by the Hong Kong Writers Circle and Women in Publishing Society, launched at the Hong Kong International Literary Festival. In 2023 she was long listed by the Comedy Women in Print Prize for Sharp Pains. In 2024 she won the Comedy Women in Print Prize for Flash Fiction. Her latest humour column Flush Fiction will be published as a weekly feature in The Hooghly Review Feb 2026.
