Support

Mental Ideas is a nonprofit group that reimagines mental health through the arts and media.

Our initiatives and collaborations include:

  • Support Groups: Bipolar Hong Kong offers monthly support groups in Hong Kong that provide a safe space for people with bipolar disorder to share their experiences and receive peer support.
  • Peer Mentoring: Bipolar HK also offers 121 peer mentoring.
  • Supporting the Homeless, Migrants and Refugees: In 2020 we created Home Kong Kitchen to support charities ImpactHK, Refugee Union, the Mission for Migrant Workers and Breadline feed the homeless during the pandemic.
  • Exhibitions and Events: We have created our own events and collaborated with charities and NGOs, including Mind HK and the Resolve Foundation, to raise awareness and foster conversations about mental health.
  • The Apostrophe: We have collaborated with the Hong Kong Writers Circle on its quarterly literary magazine The Apostrophe. Mental Ideas artists have featured prominently in every issue.
  • Creative Projects: We have collaborated with Contro Vento Films and Radio Television Hong Kong. We’ve created documentaries and podcast series for RTHK about bipolar disorder, OCD, and many other issues. We’ve co-produced films and created support for those affected by the films’ issues with Contro Vento Films.
  • We have contributed to articles about mental health published by the South China Morning Post and China Daily (HK).
