To Love A Narcissist
Trust is weaponised in To Love A Narcissist: Contro Vento Films‘ first dramatic feature film since Transference went viral (29M+ views on YouTube). Charlotte and Roberto are in love. One of them is a covert narcissist. ‘To Love A Narcissist’ is a resonant story for our times that blurs the line between love and deceit and will leave you questioning if authenticity exists.
The film stars Lyndsey Marshal alongside Raffaello Degruttola (who also directs), Stephen Campbell Moore, Sule Rimi and Andrea Lowe. Ted Field and Sadie Frost are executive producers. Contro Vento’s Sadie Kaye and Bill Bossert are among the producers.
Contro Vento brings complex, compelling characters and a much maligned and misunderstood mental health condition (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) to life in ways that maximise suspense but steer clear of sensationalism. We have been collaborating with mental health professionals and coach Sara Davison to tell this story the most honest and impactful way we can.
After screenings at Sanctum Soho in London and Cinema Village in New York, To Love A Narcissist received its Italian premiere at the Ariano International Film Festival 1 Aug 2025! The festival was an honour for Raff, whose family are from Ariano Irpino, Italy. He was awarded the Hirpus d’Oro award for ‘To Love A Narcissist’ and his contribution to film.
In Nov 2025 the film won ‘Best Film’ in the Feature category at the Seoul International Film Festival. The film will be released in North America early 2026 before being streamed worldwide.
