Challenging Patriarchy with Poetry – Cha

Sadie Kaye‘s conversation with poet and Afghan women’s rights advocate Shikha S Lamba was published by Cha: An Asian Literary Journal. Shikha curated a powerful poetry collection to raise the voices of Afghan women in collaboration with Jack Caradoc’s The Candyman’s Trumpet. It’s an honour to share stories like Shikha’s and be part of her journey. Shikha credits Afghan-American author Nadia Hashimi (the latest writer to brave The Writer’s Gauntlet, which returns to The Hooghly Review on Thursday) as the origin of her inspiration.
