Hong Kong Mental Health Film Festival

The Hong Kong International Mental Health Film Festival (HKIMHFF) will provide a platform for daring and ingenious filmmakers to showcase their mental health-inspired films. As well as screenings, there will be workshops, panel discussions and parties.

What We’re Looking For…

Films may be of any length and genre – narrative, documentary and experimental features and shorts with a broad focus on mental health issues. The festival is committed to showing the boldest, most innovative work. Submissions that fuse multiple genres and art forms are welcome!

All entries must be in English or Chinese or have English/Chinese subtitles and should meet one or all of the following criteria:

  • Inspiring voice for people affected by mental health issues
  • Highlights positive contributions made by artists and filmmakers affected by mental health issues
  • Shares stories of characters and real people affected by mental health issues

The festival will be free to enter. (We find paying for film festivals can seriously damage our mental health.) Submissions will open via Film Freeway. We are proud to be supported on this project by mental health charity Mind HK.
