Bipolar Hong Kong is Hong Kong’s first peer-led bipolar support group. Established in 2015 by Sadie Kaye, it’s since grown into a large collective of Hong Kong-based professionals, students, writers and artists living with bipolar disorder. Bipolar HK’s mission is to fight the stigma and stereotypes attached to mental illness in Hong Kong (while also occasionally – and mischievously – reveling in them).
It encourages exploration of and experimentation with healthy ways of reducing bipolar symptoms beyond treatment and medications, opportunities for peer support in free monthly support group meetings in Central and Sai Kung, and seeks to positively and proactively influence the way members perceive their conditions, as well as the way others perceive them. Interested new members are invited to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
